As some of you may know, I own and operate the online shop, LibertyFlair.com. Liberty Flair are 1 inch pin-back buttons with liberty oriented graphics, phrases, or ads on them. They are a cheap, simple, and effective way to promote liberty, and support liberty-oriented businesses, organizations, and causes. Over the past few weeks I have been rebuilding the shop, and today I am happy to announce that not only is Liberty Flair back online, we now offer a new product, POSTERS! The first printing will be of my “Risk” of Terrorism infographic on a beautiful 11″ x 17″ poster. Get yours today, only $10!!!

Are these odds worked out worldwide, including places in the Middle East and elsewhere?

Lol you totally misread her post – she was asking about your graphic above.
And although I think perhaps the graphic makes a good point I find it difficult to ‘like’ it since the ‘facts’ are clearly all made-up, and some of them massively incorrect. For example the risk of death in air accident is clearly massively lower than the risk of death in car accident, not the other way round.

i think you need to re-read the graphic… and THEN critic the facts from the group who released this study (the progressive review). for example, there is NO MENTION of death by air “accident”

Um, “you are 11,000 times more likely to dire in an airplane accident than from a terrorist plot involving an airplane.” I believe this specifically mentions airplane accident… As much as I agree with the sentiments expressed by the poster, the data is terribly presented and flawed, which can actually do damage to your argument and is at best risible and at worst irresponsible. I think you need to pay more attention to re reading the graphics you promote AND THEN work out if theyre worth defending…

Meg, can you help me find the source? I shared your graphic on my FB page and aside from the usual failure to read for comprehension, I have some otherwise reasonable people questioning the facts. can you point me to a link?

Hi Meg,
I think the plane example don’t fit in the list, because all other parts of the list compare the risk against dying in a terrorist attack whereever you are. Only the plane example compares flying in a plane to dying in a plane during a terrorist attack.
The car example don’t compare again dying in your car during a terrorist attack, and the cancer and heart disease case don’t compare to dying by a terrorist attack while in hospital because of your disease.
So you’ve got another basis for the plane case and the other cases. You can’t compare apples and oranges.

Then make a better one. Everyone has their own complaints… Just make your own if mine is such a big problem for ya’ll.
